My name
is Mike Holmes, and I have been a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain since
1982. I have run boats offshore from 18 to 48 feet, and have fished the
Gulf from the mouth of the Rio Grande to Port Eads, Louisiana. I am a member
of the Mackerel Advisory Panel to the Gulf of Mexico Fisheries Management
Council, and a resident of Oyster Creek, Texas.
As a nationally recognized and award winning outdoor
writer, I am a member of the Texas Outdoor Writers Association, the Southeastern
Outdoor Press Association, and the Outdoor Writers of America. I am a
monthly contributor to SALTWATER TEXAS and MARINER'S LOG, and freelance
for SALTWATER SPORTSMAN and SPORTFISHING Magazines. In addition, my articles
have appeared in the following publications since 1980:
